Our last trip to Columbus

Last month after Kevin's grueling week of conference deadlines, we celebrated him submitting his paper by heading to Ohio to visit the Toblers one last time! (Joseph thought it was Hawaii we were visiting, not Ohio. Sorry kid.)

To be honest, every time we have invited ourselves over, I've felt a little bit of apprehension. "What if we're finally too weird for them now?" "We haven't been real neighbors for 4 years now . . . what if we have nothing to talk about?" But they are always excited for us to come, so we go!

And it's always been magical. Within a minute of walking through the door all my fears have melted away, and it's just like we are back in Inca Villa, only with a few extra kids running around. We always have lots to laugh about, Killer Bunnies is as epic as ever, the food is always delicious (who knew rutabaga was so delicious?), and we feel so so so lucky that we made such good friends at BYU.

While we were there, we got to visit the Columbus Zoo. It was a beautiful day!

Really cute polar bear

At least one of my kids likes Matthew's hat

He liked the animals, but the walls were cooler.

The only picture I got with a non-Moon family member. Oops!
After we got back from the zoo, we had fun playing with a little pool and water table on their patio and trying out a new game. It won't be long now before they head west and we head east, and we won't get to see each other quite as often. But it has been a really sweet experience feeling like we were visiting family each time we met up in Ann Arbor and Columbus. It took a little bit of work, but it was oh so worth it.
