Thursday, as we were walking in from a pie party I saw a mouse scurry across the floor down a few stairs to its home above the basement ceiling.
We have a lot to be grateful for, but not mice.
In the past month or so of chasing them down and filling in holes, we've learned a lot about them. Here's a small sample.
Things that sound like mice:
- Couch cushions rustling
- Garbage bags settling in the trash can
- Clocks ticking
- Refrigerator squeaking when we pull it out to fill in holes in the wall
- Baseboard heaters turning on
- Matthew sucking on a pacifier
Things that don't sound like mice:
- Joseph squeaking to sound like a mouse
- Mice. Too quiet.
Things that catch mice:
- Not any traps we've tried, at least after the first two.
Oh well. We might set out some more heavy duty traps when little ones aren't around to get their fingers snapped off. That will be a fun post-Christmas present.
